FIRST TIME HOME BUYER PROGRAM EXTENDED TO APRIL 30, 2010 AND EXPANDED TO INCLUDE SOME CURRENT HOMEOWNERS.
The economic incentive program that offered first time home buyers a $8,000 tax credit if they buy a home by November 30, 2009 has been extended to April 30, 2010. Congress expanded the new program to offer some current homeowners who have used the home sold or being sold as their principal residence for 5 consecutive years in the previous 8 years a $6,500 tax credit if they buy a home before the April 30, 2010 deadline.
